Our Commitment to Accessibility
At Silicon Valley Hearing, accessibility is personal. Our founder, Dr. Marni Novick, has worn hearing aids since she was young, and she built this practice around a simple belief: everyone deserves clear, comfortable communication. That belief extends to our website, our clinic, and every conversation we have with you.
We are committed to making our website and services accessible to all people, including individuals with hearing, vision, mobility, and cognitive disabilities.
Website Accessibility
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with a wide range of disabilities. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Providing text alternatives for meaningful images
- Using clear headings and a logical page structure for screen reader users
- Making the site navigable by keyboard alone
- Maintaining readable color contrast and text that can be resized without losing content
- Providing captions for our helpful videos where possible
- Labeling forms clearly so they can be completed with assistive technology
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website and make improvements as technology and standards evolve. Some content, such as third-party tools, manufacturer materials, or embedded media, may not be fully within our control. We will do our best to provide that information in another format if you need it.
Accessibility in Our Clinic
We understand the communication challenges that hearing loss brings, and we adapt to your needs. In our office, we offer:
- Clear communication. Our team speaks face to face, at a comfortable pace, and is happy to repeat or rephrase anything.
- Written information. We can provide written summaries of your test results and care instructions.
- Assistive listening support. Please let us know if a personal amplifier or other listening device would help during your visit.
- Telehealth appointments. Remote visits are available for many follow-up and programming needs, which can reduce travel for patients with mobility concerns.
- Family and caregivers welcome. You are always welcome to bring a loved one or caregiver to your appointment.
- Service animals. Service animals are welcome in our office.
If you need a specific accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter or materials in large print, please contact us before your appointment so we can make arrangements.
