ReSound Sensia
ReSound Sensia takes a different approach to background noise, favoring the voice you are looking at instead of the loudest voice in the room.

The ReSound Sensia is GN's newest premium hearing aid family, available in a rechargeable microRIE that ReSound describes as the world's smallest AI receiver-in-ear, along with custom, CROS, and bimodal styles. It is designed to bring forward the person you are facing in a noisy room, rather than whichever voice is loudest. We fit the ReSound Sensia for patients who want strong speech-in-noise help that works without constant adjustment.
What Changed From ReSound Vivia
Sensia follows ReSound Vivia and runs on the same chip and nearly the same neural network. The difference is in when and how that processing gets used. On Vivia, the strongest noise processing had to be switched on through a separate program. At the Sensia 9 level, the hearing aids detect a difficult speech-in-noise setting and combine the neural network with the four-microphone beamformer automatically.
What the ReSound Sensia Offers
Each feature below affects how clearly you hear and how easily the devices fit into daily life.
- Automatic Intelligent Focus. In the Sensia 9 microRIE, beamforming and DNN denoising engage together on their own when conversation in front of you meets loud background noise.
- AcoustIQ Classification. Identifies speech, noise, and speech in noise, then activates the matching features, at 88% greater accuracy than the closest competitor by ReSound's measurement.
- Narrow Forward Beam. Four microphones focus on the direction you face, with ReSound reporting a 13% improvement in signal-to-noise ratio over its previous design.
- Same Small Size, Same Battery. Automatic processing arrives without growing the microRIE, which still lasts at least 24 hours and up to about 30 depending on use.
- Auracast and Telecoil. Fully working Auracast broadcast audio, Bluetooth LE Audio streaming, and a telecoil on at least one RIE model for traditional hearing loops.
- Remote Fine-Tuning. Your audiologist can adjust settings through the ReSound Smart 3D app, and clinicians keep full control over gain and noise reduction.
Is the ReSound Sensia Right for You?
Sensia is a good fit for patients who struggle most in restaurants and group settings, and for current Vivia wearers who rarely remember to switch into the hearing-in-noise program. GN chose not to offer Sensia's new steering to Vivia through a firmware update, so getting it means new hearing aids. If your Vivia devices are working well and you use the second program comfortably, there may be no reason to change yet.
Features vary by level and style. Full automatic processing is in the Sensia 9 microRIE, Sensia 7 offers DNN through a manual program, and custom styles do not include DNN denoising at launch. Music needs its own program, since Sensia does not classify music automatically.
Schedule a Consultation With Our Audiologist
If you want to know whether the ReSound Sensia suits your hearing and your routine, the first step is a comprehensive hearing evaluation. Our audiologist will go through your results with you, ask which listening situations have been hardest, and explain which style and technology level match your hearing loss.
